Pokemon's own Pokopia video shows how to clean up Bleak Beach
The official channel put out a short tips clip for Bleak Beach, the area that gets a lot less bleak once you know what the game wants from you.
The official Pokemon channel has been quietly running a Tips & Tricks series for Pokemon Pokopia, and the newest one takes on Bleak Beach. It is short, it is free, and it is above.
Pokopia is a build-and-decorate game, and Bleak Beach is exactly what the name promises when you first arrive. The clip walks through turning it into somewhere you would actually want to be.
Why first-party tips videos are unusual
Most games leave this to players. Guides get written by fans, posted on forums, and turned into twenty-minute videos by people who worked it out the hard way.
Pokemon making its own short clips says something about who Pokopia is for. This is a game aimed at a younger and more casual audience than a mainline Pokemon adventure, and a lot of those players are not going to go looking for a written guide. Sixty seconds on the official channel meets them where they already are.
What to know before you start on the beach
Two things carry over from the rest of the game and both are easy to miss:
- Clearing comes before decorating. An area fights you until you have dealt with what is already cluttering it.
- Your Pokemon do the work. Pokopia is not a game where you grind alone. Matching the right Pokemon to the right job is most of the difficulty.
Where Bleak Beach sits in the game
The beach is part of the base game, not the paid season pass. The first paid add-on, Bubbly Basin, came out this month with good reviews alongside a free update that opened up swimming underwater.
If you are only now getting into Pokopia, the free update is the more important half of that pair — it changes the game for everyone, not just people who bought the pass.
