30th Celebration pre-orders are live on Pokemon Center, in two waves

The first batch of anniversary products went up for pre-order, then a second batch followed. Everything ships for the September 16 worldwide launch.

Pre-orders for 30th Celebration opened on the official Pokemon Center store, and then a second wave of products followed a few days later, according to PokeBeach. Everything is tied to the same worldwide release date: September 16.

The two-wave pattern is worth understanding, because it changes how you should shop.

Why they open pre-orders in batches

Opening every product at once means one enormous rush, one enormous queue, and a store that falls over. Splitting the launch into waves spreads the load and lets the company judge demand on the first batch before committing the rest.

For you, it means one simple thing: missing wave one is not the end. People see "sold out" on day one, panic, and pay a reseller double for something that reappears at normal price a week later.

How to shop an anniversary drop without overpaying

  1. Work out what you actually want first. A list of two or three items beats grabbing whatever is still in stock.
  2. Official store first, always. Pokemon Center prices are the real prices. Everything above that is somebody's margin.
  3. Wait out the first 48 hours unless the item is a hard exclusive. Restocks and later waves are normal.
  4. Ignore listings that appear before an official price. Third-party sellers routinely list a made-up number before anyone knows the real one.

What is in the set

The headline cards revealed so far are Espeon ex, Umbreon ex and Pikachu ex in the Japanese Futuristic Box, plus Meowth and Alolan Meowth with special art versions. Our buyer's guide tracks every product and date as they land.

The Umbreon card is the one to watch on price. History says a wanted Umbreon can carry a whole set's resale value for years.

Pre-order dates are not release dates, and a pre-order price from a third-party shop is not an official price. Where we do not have a confirmed figure, we say so rather than guess.
