First look at the gear for next season's Pokemon tournaments
Playmats, bags and other items will be sold only at the events themselves. The first tournaments of the new season start in September.
The 2027 Pokemon championship season opens with its first Regionals in September, and The Pokemon Company International has previewed the exclusive merchandise that will be sold at events in North America and Europe, according to PokeBeach.
Event-exclusive merchandise is a small line item next to the Trading Card Game, but it is one of the few Pokemon product categories where scarcity is real rather than manufactured: it is sold at a physical venue, to people who travelled there, in limited quantity, and it does not get restocked.
Why players care about the merch table
Two audiences meet at a Regionals merch stand and want opposite things.
Competitors want functional gear — playmats, deck boxes, sleeves and card storage that are tournament-legal and that they will actually use for a season. Collectors want the event stamp: the city, the date, the season logo. The items that sell out fastest are usually the ones that satisfy both, which is why playmats disappear first.
Resale pressure follows from the same scarcity. Event-exclusive items have a reliable secondary market, and a portion of every merch queue is people buying to flip.
The season's promo card
Alongside the merchandise preview, the annual Celebratory Fanfare promo has been revealed for the 2026 season, in both Japanese and English. As in previous years, players in Japan who earn at least 30 Championship Points across the season receive the card.
Championship Point thresholds are the mechanism that keeps mid-level players attending Regionals: 30 Championship Points is reachable for a competitor with a few decent local finishes, which makes the promo an attendance incentive rather than a top-cut reward.
Dates to keep in view

The overlap is not coincidental. A new season, a new anniversary set and a budget deck-building product inside six weeks is a coordinated push at exactly the moment new players are most likely to walk into a store.
